UNITAD's Message on the International Holocaust Remembrance Day

27 January 2021, Baghdad - On Holocaust Remembrance Day we honour the memory of the millions of victims who were systematically murdered during a reign of terror unprecedented in scale and systematic and callous in nature. We remember and honour those survivors and the memory of those who suffered so very much.
Humanity owes the victims of the Holocaust its continued commitment to the pursuit of justice. Ensuring ISIL perpetrators are held accountable for the crimes committed that amount to War Crimes, Crimes Against Humanity and Genocide is essential.
Today, we need to pause, stand together - as humanity - to remember the victims of the past, the survivors of the present and collectively re-commit to ensuring our children do not see similar dark days in the future. We must recommit to the promise and the prayer of “Never again”.
